About Us
Founded in 2012, the Seven Locks Elementary School Educational Foundation (SLESEF) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides additional funding to Seven Locks Elementary School (SLES) to enhance the educational experience of students and ensure that SLES students have a first-class educational environment in which to thrive.
The SLESEF is primarily focused on supporting long-term projects that improve the experience of SLES students, including professional development for teachers, enhancements to school technology, and capital improvements to the school building and grounds.
- The SLESEF is governed by an all-volunteer board that includes SLES parents, as well as the SLES Principal and Assistant Principal.
- The SLESEF is distinct from the SLES PTA, but the two organizations share a complementary relationship. The primary mission of the PTA is advocacy and year-to-year programming that fosters parent-school engagement within the SLES community. The SLESEF provides financial support for long-term projects that enhance the experience of SLES students and might otherwise not be available to SLES students due to funding constraints.
