Textbooks & Technology Upgrades

The SLESEF has provided funds to purchase books and technology enhancements, including Chromebooks and iPads, that aid SLES teachers with reading and mathematics instruction.

Recent Additions to SLES Tech Center

The SLESEF recently helped to equip the SLES Tech Center with 3D printing and video production equipment to teach 4th and 5th graders how to use this cutting-edge technology.  Thank you to Mrs. Schmidt for attending training in 3D printing and enthusiastically sharing her knowledge with our students.  Thank you to SLES parents Lisa Friedman and Erika Schwartz for helping organize the class.

Seven Locks Friday Show

SLES has added an innovative program with a weekly production of the “Seven Locks Friday Show.”  Under the direction of Mrs. Brown, our talented 5th grade students have learned to plan, write, perform, record, edit, and distribute a ten-minute video each week.  Students have learned to use the video camera, the green screen, wireless microphones, lighting, and video editing equipment.  Each Friday, all SLES students get to watch the weekly Friday Show, which has quickly become a highlight of the week.
